Frequently asked questions
Why does my DS-160 photo keep getting rejected?
The US visa (DS-160) photo has exact numeric requirements — 600×600px square, head 50–69% of image height, eyes 56–69% from the bottom, under 240KB. SpecShot measures your face position, auto-crops and resizes to these numbers, and shows a free pass/fail diagnosis per criterion.
Is retouching allowed for passport photos?
Korean passport, resident ID, and driver license photos must be unretouched. SpecShot never edits a single face pixel — only spec validation, cropping, resizing, and file-size adjustment. There is no background replacement or skin retouching feature at all.
How many pixels should a resume photo be?
A printed Korean resume photo (3×4cm) is 354×472px at 300dpi; half-namecard (2.5×3cm) is 295×354px. Online resumes (Saramin/JobKorea) usually use 600×800px. Pick a spec in SpecShot and it converts to the exact pixels and file size.
What is "head ratio"?
It is the crown-to-chin length as a percentage of the total image height. For example, US visas allow 50–69% and Korean passports 71–80% (3.2–3.6cm). SpecShot detects your face and computes the crop so the ratio lands inside the allowed range.
How do I print the photos?
Specs with a physical size include a 4×6-inch (300dpi) print sheet. Print it as one 4×6in photo at a convenience-store kiosk or photo shop (about 500 KRW), then cut along the thin gray guide lines to get multiple copies at once.
How long are photos kept on the server?
Uploaded originals and result files are automatically deleted 30 days after creation. Face detection also runs on our own server without any external API, so your photo never leaves the server.
